Antioch University Los Angeles’ Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Specialization in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Clinical Psychology, in collaboration with internationally-renowned Highways Performance Space, encourages the development of LGBT affirmative psychology through a night of performance art, psycho-education, and community dialogue.
The evening brings together the dynamic traditions of LGBT performance, culture and psychology, to catalyze political change, personal transformation, and community activism based in psychological authenticity and gay liberation. Performers in this showcase are psychology students, mental health clinicians, and teachers as well as performance artists who are exploring the convergence of LGBT Art and Psychology. The intention of this evening is to create a space where art is used as a psychological tool for self discovery and for furthering an LGBT affirmative view as the antidote to our violence-wracked society.
The evening will include opportunities for artists and audience members alike to explore and communicate their own experience. The presentations are intended to provoke thought and inquiry.
